Student & Volunteer Opportunities

Student and Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in our facility for your learning experience!

Our volunteers/clinical students are expected to actively take part in therapy. Depending on where you are in your academic process this could include set up and clean-up of equipment as well as interacting with clients. In exchange, we provide observational opportunity, information regarding programming, and opportunities for hands on clinical experience.

Student Opportunities

As a clinical student, you are ultimately responsible for your learning at Pediatric Rehab, along with any paperwork and documentation that needs to be completed by you and your CI. The paperwork we have provided on this page will help us provide the best learning experience possible geared to your strengths and limitations. It is our hope that you leave here feeling this has been a valuable learning experience.

We require that our students commit to their learning and our clinic. We will try to coordinate your schedule with our clinicians' schedules as best as we can in order to meet any requirements needed. Most of our caseload is scheduled between 2-6 p.m. and therefore student observers need to be available during those times in order to make the experience worthwhile. It is also important to for you to disclose if there are any evaluations, recommendation, or school verification forms that must be completed during the time you are at Wellness Care Centers and Pediatric Rehab.

The following forms are provided for your convenience. Please complete the forms below: Confidentiality, Learning Style Inventory, and Student Self-Assessment, and bring them on your first day. The other forms are information for you prior to the first day at Wellness Care Centers.

**We are currently not taking students for Summer 2024; however, we are open for the Fall 2024 semester**

Volunteer Opportunities

We require that our volunteers commit to their learning and our clinic. As a volunteer we expect a minimum of 25 hours in order to be in our clinic. We have found that this amount of time is beneficial for students to learn our routine and about our clients. The more time spent at Pediatric Rehab maximizes the amount of assistance and observation time for students. We will try to work you into our volunteer schedule in time to meet your class requirements.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We are excited to have you join our team and want to make your time here, no matter where you are in your quest to be a therapist, a positive one.
